Id still have to go to class even if buried in snow otherwise id have to take the entire class over... while that wouldnt be too bad being away from my department for another 4 weeks im really close to my promotion and it'd piss me off to delay that any more.

That does suck Slayer. Though you would think if you had a blizzard that the instructor probably wouldn't show up, thus you missing would go unnoticed as he wouldn't be there either.

Well the snow is supposed to start tonight, though it looks like Chicago is already getting hit. We will see how bad it gets here tomorrow. If it is too bad when I leave school tomorrow I'm going back to my college to my gf's and staying there until it either lets up or until the next morning.

Welp we just got hit with some snow, though it wasn't bad. Of course if the road crews don't step it up for the "big" snow we are supposed to get tomorrow, then life is going to be hell when driving. They did a pretty pathetic job with just an inch or less of accumulation. And of course then there are the people in the 4x4 vehicles that decide they should tailgate me because I'm not going fast enough. Sorry pal, but tell that to the 5 cars IN FRONT OF ME. Tailgating me does NOTHING other than raise the risk of you hitting me. >< Grrrrr.... Also not holding my breath for a snow day...

Ya I'll believe it when I see it. I have seen enough forecasts of doom to not believe it until I see it.

Better to be prepared and miss it, than not be ready at all.

I'm prepared. Though not for the drive in tomorrow... Of course the school district I am in is one of 3 in the area not to have cancelled yet. I fully expect the other 2 to cancel tomorrow morning and for me to be the only district in session. Go team. ><

ah, I remember as a kid waiting for snow days...and we had quite a few (most of you wont remember the blizzards of the 70's---best one was around 78? 79?....and even I dont remember everything about the one from '69 which stopped everything in chicago for 3 days)....ah the good ole days---very glad they are long gone.

got an email from my sister--she says they are looking at over a foot of snow from this, and my milwaukee friend says she is staying home from work tomorrow.

Ahh, the beauty of living in an enormous small country, in between lots of stuff, and far from disasters, our "biggest" nature disaster, well it never happens so :P

Welp, snow day for me. Which is surprising since the district never cancels. And now the worst part isn't supposed to hit us until noon. But I'm a-okay with not having school today and now not possibly tomorrow. Though again, not holding my breath on that.

I usually do but since I have another snow day. I don't really have anything to do. I will work on stuff for school but otherwise, just gonna relax. I will have school tomorrow and Friday but we need it so we don't fall too far behind where we want to be.

Welp, the groundhog didn't see his shadow which means an early spring. Tough to believe after the past few days and the predicted upcoming ones.

WTF rain! Go away. Shoveling snow is already hard enough, adding rain to it makes it even heavier.

2 Snowdays in a row isnt that bad. My professor even sent an email saying "Since my driveway isn't shoveled, class is canceled enjoy."

jumping...I can see members of your class going over to that profs house and putting more snow in the driveway !
sometimes its nice to live in a place where you pay for services like driveway shoveling ....one of the few perks of living in a condo---though I dont think they have been here yet as we are pretty dang low on the priority list (like below last).....

talked with a few peeps from chicago---sister says its a bright sunny day (and yeah she had to work--banks are not closed today)....brother in south says they got some snow but not much.....so I guess it depends on where you are (friend in milwaukee got plenty she says).

With rain around here after the snow, the roads are forming lakes in the low spots and we are supposed to have a sudden freeze late afternoon. Another storm due on Saturday afternoon.

No rain here, but it is sunny out. Which is good since the wind is still blowing but it made the shoveling a little better. Dad and I went out for 2 hours and were clearing our driveway with the snow blower and shovels. Nice to live in a small community as other neighbors were out and we all lent each other a helping hand.

Last night I shoveled almost all of our drive by hand so my dad could get in. It was freezing, wind was gusting, snow was blowing. It was a whiteout where I was at, I could hardly see the end of my driveway. But I got our driveway pretty much done so he could get into garage, not sure how long our driveway is but it isn't short. Oh well. Lots of shoveling but it appears the snow is finally done for now.
